Household Hazardous Waste

Certain household wastes are not accepted in your roll-out cart, because they can be hazardous to our environment and our collection workers.

 

Such items include:

Antifreeze - Brake fluid - Car batteries - Drain cleaners
Paint (all kinds) - Paint stripper - Paint thinner - Pesticides
Gasoline - Insect spray - Lighter fluid - Motor oil - Oven cleaners
Pool chemicals - Rat poison - Solvents - Transmission fluid - Weed killer

These items may be taken to a household hazardous waste collection center.

 

Guilford County residents may use the collection center located at 2750 Patterson Avenue, Greensboro. Call them at 373-2196.

 

Hours are:
Wed. -Fri., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
