UPDATE High Point
The City has established a website for the new UPDATE High Point project. The web address is: www.highpointnc.gov/updatehighpoint/ . Please visit this site periodically for updates. In addition, the City is holding an UPDATE High Point public meeting on June 5, 2012.
Planning & Development Dept. 2011 Annual Report
This report highlights the department's key projects and provides information about development activity in the city during 2011.
The population estimate for High Point as of April 1, 2012 has been released.
IMPORTANT BUILDING CODE NEWS
"The 2012 NC State Residential Code and the NC State Energy Conservation Code becomes mandatory on March 1, 2012. The Residential Code as well as all other 2012 Codes can viewed at this link.
Effective March 1, 2012, the 2012 NC Residential Code and the 2012 Energy Conservation Code will become mandatory. The following insulation/fenestration requirements will change for single-family dwellings permits issued on or after March 1, 2012:

National Register Nomination for the Allen Jay School Rock Gymnasium
The High Point City Council will hear public comment on the National Register Nomination for the Allen Jay School Rock Gymnasium at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday,

Revised Permit Center Hours
In an effort to provide better service to all of our customers we are changing the operation hours of the Permit Center. Starting Tuesday, January 3, 2012 our new hours will be 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. This new schedule will be for all Permit Center activities including our walk-in customers and business by telephone.
We appreciate your assistance and understanding during this transition.

The Planning & Development Department conducted several surveys of our residential, contractor and development review customers to obtain customer opinion information regarding several of the services we provide. Stormwater BMP Maintenance General Guidelines - This manual provides non-technical information on how and when maintenance should be performed on the various types of stormwater control devices used in High Point to comply with drinking water and non-drinking watershed regulations.
