Summer hours of operation: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-9:00pm; Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm; Saturday, 9:00am-2:00pm.
Fall/Winter hours of operation: Monday & Wednesday, 9:00am-9:00pm; Tuesday, 2:00pm-9:00pm; Thursday, 1:00pm-9:00pm; Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm; Saturday, 9:00am-12:00pm. These hours will be in effect during the Guilford County School calendar year. Allen Jay Recreation Center was built in 2008. The center is located in Allen Jay Park at 1073 E. Springfield Road. This facility was funded through the 2004 Bond Referendum and was intended to replace the previous recreation center which was housed at the Old Rock Gym at Allen Jay Middle School, which was closed in December 2004.
The center features a gymnasium, large activity room, kitchen, game room and craft room. The park features three lighted baseball/softball athletic fields, two lighted tennis courts, a lighted outdoor basketball court, two small shelters and a playground. A variety of programs and activities are held at the center year round.
The center is available for rental opportunities to the public when not in use for regular operational programs and activities. You may rent the center for reunions, wedding receptions, graduation parties or any type of family gathering you may have. Call the center to request a date and obtain rates.
|Adult Lunchtime Basketball - ages 18+
Monday & Wednesday
12-2p.m. Fee:$2.00 per person
Drop in for a little lunchtime workout. Hoop it up with some friendly pickup play.
|After School Program
2:30-6p.m. Fee:$125.00 per month
Quality programming and supervision for children in grades K-5. The program includes homework time, arts and crafts, field trips, guest speakers, movies, physical and educational activities. Afternoon snack and transportation will be provided. Program runs during the school year.

This is an intense three-week performance camp in a mentally and physically challenging environment designed to teach and improve cheer skills. Participants will perform at the end of the session.

Ballroom dancing is fun and great for physical activity! This class will cover the basics of a variety of ballroom dances. Good for beginners or persons who want to brush up on their steps. Both couples and singles are welcome.

A safe and fun program for youth during spring break and teach workdays. Each day will have a designated topic or event and may include gym games, outside play, board and table games, movies and field trips. Participants are asked to bring lunch and two snacks each day. There is an additional charge for activity fees.

Come out and enjoy our outdoor walking trail. The trail is approximately 1/2 mile long. Come out and get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
|Write it Out Loud Summer Enrichment Camp - Grades K-5th

7:30a.m.-6p.m. Fee:$65.00 per person/per week, plus activity fees
This camp will have various themes throughout the 11-weeks for youth to engage in a learning environment. Campers will explore various creative writing art forms to enhance their writing skills. They will have opportunities to create super heroes, use creative energies in spoken word/poetry, explore journalism and create a children's book. Campers will also engage in various other summer activities like swimming, playing games, watching movies and many other activities in a safe, fun environment.
