Hours of operation:  Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-9:00pm; Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm; Saturday, 9:00am-2:00pm

Deep River Recreation Center consists of a 18' x 22' game room, 22' x 23' craft room, 46' x 35' large multipurpose room, 2 sets of restrooms and a regulation size gymnasium.Deep River

For information on shelter rentals, please call 883-3469 and for athletic fields please call 883-3480.

The surrounding park features 2 lighted baseball/softball field with bleachers, 1 lighted baseball field with bleachers, 3 unlighted tennis courts, an outdoor basketball court, playground, restroom/concession building, picnic shelter, and unlighted multipurpose athletic field.

The Center offers a wide variety of recreation programs for all ages and abilities.  Deep River Recreation Center is also available for the public to rent space for special occasions, Holidays and special events.

Looking for somewhere fun and safe for your child after school? We provide a safe and fun environment for your child. There will be free time, arts & crafts, organized activities and homework time. Parents are responsible for snacks.

 

Cribbage Club - ages 12+

Are you tired of the same traditional card games? Try this new, English card game that is quickly coming back in style.

 

Detroit Style Ballroom Dance - Beginners - ages 18+

In this beginner level, "Detroit Ballroom Style" and Soul Line dance class, professional instructors will teach you the basic moves and smooth grooves of urban style dancing.

 

Drop 'n Shop - ages 5-12

Stressed during the holidays? Shopping trips testing your nerves? Leave your kids with us while you wrangle the malls and shopping centers of the Triad. Your kids will receive the complete package of games, activities and holiday music/movies followed by a lunch of pizza and drinks. Let us help you get it all "wrapped up"! Pre-registration is required.

 

Gym for Special Populations
Thursdays
10:30a.m.-12p.m.  All group homes and families are welcome to our open play time for special populations to gain socialization skills and be more active. Please call in advance if you are planning on a large group to attend.

 

Holiday Matinee - Polar Express - ages 10 & under

Children and parents are invited to come dressed in their pajamas to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate while watching "The Polar Express." Each child will also have the opportunity to give Santa their holiday wish list.

 

Jiu Jitsu - ages 16+
Tuesday & Thursday
6:30-8:30p.m.  Fee:$40 per person/per month

Learn self defense through Jui Jitsu, using a series of joint locks and defensive tactics.

 

Lunchtime Ballers - ages 18+
Mondays
11a.m.-1p.m.  Don't have time to workout? Is lunch time your only time? Come on out and show off your basketball skills and enjoy the chance to get some exercise in a fun setting.

 

Silver Striders - ages 55+
Wednesday
9:30-11a.m.  It's time to get healthier and more fit through walking, one of the simplest and most effective forms of exercise. 19 laps equals one mile!

 

Stepping Out of Line - ages 18+
Thursdays
12:45p.m.-1:45p.m.  Fee:$5 per person/per class
Instructor: Sandra Fuller
Information & Registration            
This line dance class will burn calories, increase flexibility and coordination and give mind and memory a workout. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes and join the fun. Appropriate for advanced beginners.

 

Zumba - ages 18+
Monday-Thursday, Saturday
7-8p.m. (Monday & Wednesday); 9:30-10:30a.m. (Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday)  Fee:$5 per person/per class; Packages - $20 for 5 classes; $30 for 10 classes, $50 for 20 classes
