What are the registration fees for youth sports?
The price varies depending on the sport. Sporting events listed in our Leisure Time Guide and on our website will include the registration fee information.

What is the cost to put a team in the adult leagues? The price varies depending on the sport. Sporting events listed in our Leisure Time Guide and on our website will include the registration fee information. 

What do you have to do to become a youth coach? Our coaches are volunteers and a valuable part of our organization. We ask that interested parties go through the NYSCA Coaches Certificate class. We do background checks on all our coaches. You can contact our Athletics Division office at 883-3480 for more information. 

How do we know if the games have been called off due to inclement weather? Please call our weather line at 883-1106 or check under announcements on our home page.

How do I express a concern about my child's coach? Please contact our Athletics Division office at 883-3480 and we will be happy discuss this with you.

Does the City of High Point have swimming pools? We have two outdoor pools. One at City Lake Park, 883-3498 and one at Washington Terrace Park, 883-8599. Please contact these locations for hours and admission costs.

Where is the closest campground? The City of High Point's campground is located at Oak Hollow Lake. Their address is 3415 N. Centennial Street.  You may contact them at 883-3492 or visit their website at www.oakhollowcampground.com.

What types of programs do you offer? We offer a wide variety of programs for most any age, including arts and crafts, fitness, trips, team sports and much more. Our Leisure Times Guide is published six times per year with all the available programs listed and is available on our website or you may pick up a copy at any of our recreation centers. You can also visit our facilities at our website to get updated program information or call us at 883-3469.

How do I sign up for an activity? Pre-registration is usually required and payment is required at time of registration. You can either do this by mail or in person.  Most registration forms are located with the program on our website.  You may download the form ahead of time and bring it with you to make payment.

Do you take debit cards or charge cards? Most of our facilities do take debit cards and credit cards.

How do I contact a Park Ranger? During the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm call 883-3469. After 5:00pm, weekends and holidays, call 883-3224.

How do I get there? I need directions! Our web page shows a map for the location of each of our facilities. You can call our office at 883-3469 if you need further assistance.

How do I get general information? For answers to most questions, you can call the Parks and Recreation Administration office at 883-3469 or go to our website at www.highpointnc.gov/pr where you can get information or view our current Leisure Time Guide. You may also go to our Comment/Request Form on our website and submit that to us.

How do I get involved with the High Point Youth Council? If you are a High Point area High School Student, please call 883-3483 for information about the Youth Council.

What is the process of reserving a picnic shelter or other facility? For picnic shelters you can contact City Lake Park at 883-3498, Washington Terrace Park at 883-8599, for Oak Hollow Park contact the Marina office at 883-3494, and for all other park shelters contact 883-3469. You can obtain information on other rentals by visiting Facility Rentals on our website.

Do you have a scholarship program? Our Special Populations division does have a scholarship program. Contact 883-3481 for more information.
