Internship Opportunities



General Definition of Responsibilities:
Assigned to specific program or park facilities area under direct supervision of program supervisors or coordinators.

Plans and organizes routine application of individual and group structured activities; observes, discusses, and evaluates existing programs and activities; makes suggestions where applicable.

Typical Tasks:
Organize, plan and execute at least one structured activity for three varied age groups.
Attend weekly program staff/supervisors meeting.
Observe and evaluate supervisory level techniques and work application through orientation in Athletics, Recreation Centers, Special Populations.
Maintain and prepare records for program and attendance.
Inspect equipment, maintain proper inventory.
Supervise playing of games/activities.
Develop a weekly work schedule.
Assist program directors in general operation.
Perform related tasks as required.

Knowledges, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to maintain order in a public facility; maintain effective working relationship with participants, general public, and staff; ability to receive constructive criticism; general knowledge of indoor/outdoor games and related rules and regulations.
