Our youth athletic programs are focused on the total development of the child. "We do not place emphasis on winning." Our mission at High Point Parks & Recreation is to provide a positive sports experience for children and their parents. Our program philosophy emphasizes sportsmanship, camaraderie, fun and safety.

|City-Wide Youth Basketball League Registration - ages 7-14 - Athletics
Fee:$40 per person
Deadline for enrollment: 1/2/15
Kids will learn the fundamentals of basketball while having fun. Age as of January 1st will be used. Skills test is mandatory for all players and will be held on Saturday, January 10 at Allen Jay Recreation Center, 1073 E. Springfield Road; times are as follows. 9a.m. - 7 & 8, 10:30a.m. - 10 & under, 12noon - 12 & under, 1:30p.m. - 14 & under. Mandatory parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at Morehead Recreation Center, 101 Price Street at 6:30p.m. Team practices will begin Wednesday, Thursday, January 14 & 15. Practice schedules will be issued during the parent meeting.
|High School Summer Basketball League - ages 14-17 - Athletics

Deadline for enrollment: 5/29/15
League is for boy and girls high school varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams. Divisions will be offered per gender. Team eligibility is only for players that will be attending high school in the upcoming school year. Additional resources and sessions will be hosted to help participants become more aware of college requirements. Registration begins April 6.

High Point Parks & Recreation now offers youth flag football leagues. Registration is open for both boys and girls. Our leagues focus on skill development in a fun, friendly, and competitive environment. Children will learn skills such as passing, catching, kicking and punting. Program will be held at Deep River Recreation Center. Registration begins February 2.
