Summer Reading
Summer reading helps build the foundation of early literacy for our littles. Summer reading is critical to help children retain what they learned during the school year. Summer reading also helps to foster social-emotional development, discovering the joy of reading, and helping them to become lifelong learners.
High Point Public Library Children’s 2023 Summer Reading Program, All Together Now, begins on Monday June 12th and will run until Saturday August 12th. Children can sign up and pick up a paper-reading log in person in the children’s department. For more information, call the children’s reference desk at (336) 883-3666.

Junior Friends:
The Junior Friends of the High Point Public Library have been an important part of Children’s Services for over 25 years! The Junior Friends is a library service organization for rising 5th through 8th grade volunteers that are interested in reading, helping others, and making a difference in our community.
If you are interested in volunteering, you may pick up an application beginning on March 4th at children’s reference desk or you can print a copy of the application. You must be a rising 5th grader to apply. Applications are due back to the library by April 17. For more information about the Junior Friends or, call (336) 883-3666.
