Summer Camps

High Point Parks & Recreation has a variety of summer camps for all children.  You can register for camps in person, by phone or online.

Camp Ann

A summer day camp program for school-aged children and adults with developmental disabilities.  Camp is held at Allen Jay Recreation Center, 1073 E. Springfield Road and offers arts and crafts, field trips, swimming and outdoor recreation.  One snack is provided daily.  Camp is held Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  Fee structure:  $35 per week for those providing their own transportation to and from camp, $50 per week for those living within the city limits of High Point with transportation provided to and from camp.  For more information please call 336-883-3477.

Nature Camps-2019

Piedmont Environmental Center, 1220 Penny Road

Camps hosted by the Piedmont Environmental Center are are specifically designed for children who have a sincere interest in nature and the environment. Camps are filled with engaging activities and events that foster an understanding of natural history. All the fun leads to more than a sterile body of facts. By the end of a camp experience, campers are more keenly aware of their own place in the network of plants and animals.

Junior camps are for ages 6-8, Herpetology camp and Summer Nature Camp are for ages 8-12, Advanced Nature camp is for ages 12-15.

Recreation Centers

High Point Parks & Recreation offers high quality, affordable summer camps for rising 1st graders-6th graders. Teen camps for rising 7th-9th graders are also available at Deep River Recreation Center. Don't miss the chance to reserve your child’s spot for a summer of fun, learning, and friendship in a safe environment!

Monday-Friday, June 11 - August 23, 2019 (Cost is weekly) $80 per week includes full-time care (7:30am-6pm, Monday through Friday), field trips, activities and a t-shirt!
 
Discounts are available for families with more than 1 child enrolled: $80 per week for first child enrolled; $70 per week for additional siblings. (Children must attend same weeks of camps.) Please call for details.

Standup Paddleboarding Camp

2019 dates and pricing will be announced soon!  High Point Parks and Recreation is partnering with the High Point Adventure Company to offer an exciting opportunity for children ages 10-15 to explore nature via Standup Paddleboarding (SUP).  While taking part in team building activities, environmental education, and games, participants will gain an understanding of safety gear, SUP equipment and more while enjoying beautiful Oak Hollow Lake.

Summer Tennis Camps

2019 dates and pricing will be announced soon!  These five-day camps include all the basic skills of tennis enabling each player to move to the next level.  Emphasis on point play will be stressed as well as proper technique and court movement.  Players will learn how to rally and play points against one another through drills, fun games, endurance and footwork development, and mini-matches.
