Downtown Mixed-Use Area Plan

On September 18, 2017, the City Council adopted the High Point Downtown Mixed-Use Area Plan (PDF). On the same day, City Council also took the first step in implementing the Plan by initiating a zoning map amendment to zone 129 acres to the Mixed-Use Downtown (MX-D) District and to expand the Central Business (CB) District by adding 57 acres as shown on Map 1 (PDF).

Additionally, a text amendment to the Development Ordinance is also needed to establish standards for the Mixed-Use Downtown (MX-D) District and to designate the Central Business (CB) District as the zoning district for new Market Showrooms.

If you want to make comments on the proposed zoning map amendments and the text amendment, then the public hearings are as follows:
