What is the West Ray Area Project?
The City of High Point maintains a Stormwater Management Program to support and assist the residents of High Point with stormwater and runoff-related matters. As part of the continued progress of this program, the West Ray Area Project will strategically identify and address stormwater-related needs based on the existing conditions of infrastructure in that drainage area. A new design that helps to alleviate stormwater and runoff-related issues will be developed using cost-effective alternatives and input from citizens.
I am a resident of the study area, how can I provide my input?
A questionnaire will be created and distributed within the study area to assess the watershed's conditions from the perspective of residents and property owners (historical flooding, drainage issues, erosion, etc.). Questionnaires will be mailed to residents, and they can submit their responses by:
- Mailing the completed questionnaire back to the Public Services department at the mailing address listed
- Bringing their completed questionnaires to a public meeting, to be held at on April 24, 2018 at the High Point Public Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as well as 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Pick the meeting time that is most convenient to you. The two meetings are an open-house format, so please arrive any time during the two hour time frame for either option.
- Completing the questionnaire electronically here.
What will be done on-site as part of this study?
The consultant team will complete stream walks and photo logs within the study area to verify data for the modeling analysis and stream assessment. The site visits will occur throughout the modeling and initial design phases of the project. Businesses and residents within the project area will be notified, at a minimum, one week before the staff will be on site.
