Data Resources Table

This page identifies data that may be useful in preparing reports and studies, or can be used for general informational purposes. A list of categories is provided below. Clicking on the name of a category takes you to a web page where additional information can be found. Links to these web pages are also listed on the left. After you navigate to the desired web page, you will find that some of the links take you directly to the referenced data, while others take you to web sites, like the Census Bureau's American FactFinder, where you can initiate your own search. The Planning & Development Department produces several documents that may already contain the information you are looking for. Links to these documents are provided in the Page Contents section of each web page.
  1. Community Resources

    Community Resources includes schools, school enrollment, hospitals and health care, community facilities, parks and recreation, greenways, voting districts, zip codes, survey monuments, electric network, water/sewer/solid waste facilities, public safety jurisdictions, safety personnel, safety equipment, public safety incidents, and crime rates.

  2. Development Activity

    Development Activity includes land use, historic preservation design review, building permit reports, annexations, zoning cases, board of adjustment cases, development plans, subdivisions, water quality ponds, and standard drawings for infrastructure improvements.

  3. Economy

    Economy includes business establishments, payrolls/wages, sales/receipts, largest employers, new and expanding businesses, jobs created, commercial development.

  4. Employment

    Employment includes labor force, unemployment, commuting, occupation, industry

  5. Environment

    Environment includes wetlands, threatened and endangered species, historic districts and buildings, land area, aerial photography, satellite imagery, topography, soils, stream classifications, watersheds, flood plains, and digital elevation model.

  6. Housing

    Housing includes housing units, average household size, household type, tenure (owner vs. renter), occupancy, type of structure, value, housing costs, rent, apartment rates, year structure built, mortgage status, year moved into unit, construction cost, demolitions, and homelessness.

  7. Income

    Income includes household income, median household income, family income, median family income, personal income, per capita income, income limits, and poverty status.

  8. Population

    Population includes total population, age, sex, race/ethnicity, place of birth, language spoken, persons with disabilities, educational attainment, population estimates, population projections, natural increase, growth rate, density.

  9. Transportation

    Transportation includes traffic counts, growth rate of traffic, off-street parking (city-owned), street centerlines, hitran, sidewalks, railways, and crash reports.
