- Virtual Volunteering
Although we are not currently accepting in-house volunteering or service learning, we have come up with three ways for you to earn those hours virtually!
Teen Book Reviews
You can earn two hours of volunteer time by reading an age-appropriate book that is available from the High Point Public Library and submitting a review on that book, either as a 1-page in-depth analysis, a presentation, a painting, or any other type of medium. However, you can only submit one 1-page in-depth analysis. If you want to submit more than one review, you must choose a different medium. Also, if you wish to do a review on a graphic novel, you will need pre-approval from Megan at firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition to the book review, you will also have to submit a two-sentence summary that we can use on social media.
You can submit your book review here.
Pitch Us An Idea! Service Project
While we are unable to allow students to complete their service learning here, we are encouraging them to do something good for their community. With the Pitch Us An Idea! Service Project, we have the students tell us what they want to do, such as picking up litter in their neighborhood or sending postcards to a nursing home. Students will submit a detailed proposal providing us information such as how they will accomplish their idea, their safety plan, and how many hours will be needed to complete their project. Once their project is complete, we will have them send in a presentation with pictures to then receive their service learning hours. Please keep in mind that this will not be done through the library, but if you would like to do it for the library, that would be something to include in your proposal.
You can submit your service project proposal here.

As with most things this year, this will be a learning experience for all of us involved. For any questions or concerns, please contact Megan at email@example.com.
Help Out the Museum!
The High Point Museum is looking for volunteers to work from home and help them transcribe letters, diaries, deeds, meeting minutes, and other materials from their collection.
