City Council adopted a resolution in May 2018 to partner with the High Point Housing Authority (HPHA) to redevelop the Daniel Brooks Home site. The City's participation will be used towards construction costs and infrastructure to develop new affordable housing units.
Construction has begun on Legacy Ridge. Clearing of the site has been completed, erosion control measures have been installed, and grading has begun. Grading will continue for several more months as the site is graded to form the eight building pads that make up Legacy Ridge. In addition to the grading activities, the remaining buildings from the Daniel Brooks Annex have been demolished with the foundations to be removed over the coming weeks. Construction completion for Legacy Ridge is scheduled for Fall of 2024.
