Replace Daniel Brooks Complex

City Council adopted a resolution in May 2018 to partner with the High Point Housing Authority (HPHA) to redevelop the Daniel Brooks Home site. The City's participation will be used towards construction costs and infrastructure to develop new affordable housing units.

In July 2022, the Housing Authority sought and won approval from the Local Government Commission to increase an existing bond authorization from $11 million to $14 million, citing increased construction costs. These are tax-exempt bonds allocated by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. The project is slated to begin construction in the fall of 2022, with completion in 2024.
