Guilford College & Wendover Ave Evaluation
From time to time, the conditions in an area of High Point change enough to warrant an evaluation of that area’s land use classifications on the City’s official Land Use Plan Map. These classifications serve as the basis for guiding decision-makers, as well as the public and the private sector, about the anticipated future land use pattern in the city. One such area that is undergoing significant change is an area near the intersection of Guilford College Road and West Wendover Avenue in the northeast corner of High Point, as shown on the map below.
The City of High Point Planning and Development Department has conducted a concise study of the existing land use patterns and conditions and is recommending seven amendments to the City's Land Use Plan Map, as detailed in the report and related maps found in the table below.
The city will be holding a public information meeting on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, located at 5959 Hickory Grove Road, from 5 to 7 PM, to give a short presentation about the proposed changes, answer questions, and receive feedback. If you have any questions and cannot make it to the meeting, please contact the Planning and Development Department at 336-883-3328. Questions and comments can also be submitted via email to: GuilfordWendoverEval@highpointnc.gov
Following the public information meeting, comments will be reviewed and considered prior to presenting the final recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council for a final decision.
