Dental Users

General Information

In June 2017, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published Dental Effluent Guidelines (40 CFR Part 441) to reduce the discharge of mercury from dental offices to municipal wastewater treatment plants.

Dental Dischargers subject to the regulation must install and maintain an ISO-approved amalgam separator, implement best management practices and submit a one-time compliance report to the control authority for their town or municipality.  The City of High Point is the control authority for the City of Archdale, the Town of Jamestown and the City of High Point.
