Keep High Point Beautiful and the City of High Point are excited to present our fourth year of Winter Wipeout: February 10 to March 8, 2020! During the winter it becomes easier to see trash that is normally covered by shrubs, vines and tall grass, so now is a great time to tackle it. All are welcome to sign up and join us in this effort!
The cleanup time frame is four weeks and allows for volunteers to choose when it is most convenient for them to clean up! Between February 10 and March 8 you can pick up your supplies and perform a cleanup when it works best for you/your group.
Flowers Powering Hope combines beautification and helps address food insecurity in our community. Participants received one free bag of bulbs in exchange for 3 non-perishable, non-expired food items, household cleaning and/or personal hygiene. We love how our community comes out to support one another!
Each year Keep High Point Beautiful board members drive around the majority of the city looking for litter. This is called Litter Indexing and each area is scored based on the amount of litter present. This data is used to determine where to focus cleanup efforts and education and also to track the rate of litter in the city. Since this effort began, we have actually seen a reduction in litter in many parts of the city!
The Great American Cleanup- our largest citywide cleanup, is coming up on April 18. Registration information is coming soon, but make sure to get ready now!
Please join us for one of our many annual events. For more information on volunteering with us in the future please e-mail Rebecca.Coplin@highpointnc.gov
