May 7, 2018 -- Governor Roy Cooper announced that Amada North America has chosen High Point for its new manufacturing campus. The company will create 201 jobs and invest $87 million. Amada manufactures precision sheet metal fabricating equipment.
March 05, 2018 -- The Greensboro-High Point MSA has been ranked #2 in the nation for new and expanded corporate facilities in 2017, in metro areas with populations of 200,000-1,000,000. The MSA is composed of Guilford, Randolph, and Rockingham counties.
Nov. 21, 2017 -- CNBC rated Greensboro-High Point, Charlotte, and Raleigh-Durham among the top North American contenders for Amazon's highly-publicized second headquarters project. Amazon's "HQ2" will employ up to 50,000 people and cost $5 billion.
Nov. 15, 2017 -- At the High Point EDC annual meeting, the Greensboro-High Point economic development team reported 21 office/industrial project announcements over the last year. The list included North Carolina's largest job-creation project.
Nov. 1, 2017 -- A supplier of liquid colorants and additives for the plastics industry is opening a new manufacturing operation at 600 N. Scientific St. Riverdale Global is spending about $4 million to buy, upfit, and equip the 200,000-sq. ft. building.
Oct. 24, 2017 -- Mickey Truck Bodies has opened the first phase of its High Point manufacturing expansion. Founded in 1904, Mickey is the country's biggest supplier of beverage trailers and bodies, side loaders, and emergency vehicles.
Oct. 19, 2017 -- For Amazon’s HQ2 project, the High Point Economic Development Corporation partnered with the Piedmont Triad Partnership, Winston-Salem Business, and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce to craft a comprehensive, aggressive proposal.
Oct. 17, 2017 -- A "mission critical" mechanical contractor and custom HVAC equipment manufacturer has purchased 250 Swathmore Ave. Environmental Air Systems will relocate more than 300 employees to the 245,000-sq. ft. office and manufacturing facility.
Oct. 17, 2017 -- The Phillips Collection has purchased three buildings totaling 90,000 square feet of warehouse space. The furniture company is known for searching the world for exciting products for their design-oriented customers.
Oct. 5, 2017 -- Superion will expand existing operations in High Point, creating 80 jobs over three years, Governor Roy Cooper announced. The software company, which provides services to public sector groups, will invest $3.46 million with this project.
July 6, 2017 -- Greensboro-High Point claimed the state’s largest job-creation announcement over the last year, according to the July 2017 edition of Business North Carolina. Guilford County, also landed three of the state’s Top 15 projects.
