[ARCHIVED] WINTER WEATHER CHANGES CITY GARBAGE PICKUP SCHEDULE

winter weather garbage pickup

Due to the recent winter weather conditions, the City of High Point is operating under a modified garbage and recycling collection schedule this week. There will be no bulk or yard waste collection this week. Due to the current condition of roads in many residential areas, routes normally scheduled for Monday and Tuesday collection will only have garbage (no recycling) collection this week with delayed start times, one day later.  Routes normally scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday collection will be picked up a day later with garbage and recycling resuming as temperatures are expected to help improve road conditions. We will make every effort to perform residential collection wherever it is safe to do so. A summary of the modified collection schedule is included below:

Monday, Jan. 9 routes to be collected Tuesday, Jan. 10 beginning at 11 a.m. (no recycling)

Tuesday, Jan. 10 routes to be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. (no recycling)

Wednesday, Jan. 11 routes to be collected Thursday, Jan. 12 at normal time (trash and recycling)

Thursday, Jan. 12 routes to be collected Friday, Jan 13. at normal time (trash and recycling)

There will be no yard waste collection this week. In order to minimize damage to cans, residents are asked to remove snow/ice from the can lids, if possible. Customer Service is available to answer questions about solid waste collection at 336.883.3111.
