[ARCHIVED] Library Plaza Project Updates

9/27/17 UPDATE-

On Monday, 10/2/17, the N. Main St entrance closest to the building will be closed as construction moves to this area.

The newly-paved area in the middle of the lot will be available for parking, and accessible from N. Main St and N. Elm St entrances near Krispy Kreme & the law offices. Handicap parking will be located in the new lot closest to the library.

On Monday, 10/16/17, the N. Elm St entrance closest to the building will be closed. The N. Main St entrance will remain closed through the remainder of construction.

The drops and drive-through window will be inaccessible. Materials may be returned & holds picked up inside the Main Library, at Deep River Recreational Center (1529 Skeet Club Rd), and Parks & Recreational headquarters (136 Northpoint Av). Only materials may be returned at the High Point Museum (1859 E. Lexington Av).

8/2/17 UPDATE- The part of the parking lot by the Krispy Kreme is striped and available for parking.  At the moment the only entrance/exit is from North Main, but the North Elm entrance should be open and the sidewalk repaired by the middle of next week.

7/19/17 UPDATE- A large portion of the parking lot will be unavailable beginning Friday, July 21, as construction crews move into the next stage of the renovation project. Approximately two-thirds of the parking area on the North Main side will be fenced in while infrastructure is installed and the permanent market stalls are constructed. The drive running in front of the building that is accessed from North Main Street and North Elm Street will remain open (during this particular part of the project. It will have to be closed at some point.)

The work on the north end of the lot nearest Krispy Kreme is approaching completion and will be temporarily paved and striped in the next few weeks. This will allow customers to park there while the rest of the project is underway. Signage will be in place to inform the public when that area is available.

The Farmers Market will continue to take place during the construction. This Saturday, July 22, it will be moved to the back fence. Next week, it will probably be in the bank parking lot – we’ll let you know more as things progress.

4/17/17 UPDATE- Until further notice the drives closest to the building from N. Main Street and N. Elm Street are the only two entrances into the library parking lot.

4/12/17 UPDATE- The only entrance to the Library parking lot off Main St. is the one closest to the building.

The BNC Bank parking lot on Elm St. and the small Library parking lot on Sunset Dr. will be available for parking during the renovation.
