We’re re-opening our building! As part of Phase 2.5, you can enter the Library starting this Thursday (9/10). However, we’ve implemented a number of new guidelines to help you continue to check out safely:
All Library building visits will be by appointment only, Monday through Friday at 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm (and at 5 pm, Monday through Thursday, but not on Friday). All appointments begin on the hour and end 15 minutes before the next hour; appointments are a maximum of 45 minutes long if you arrive at your appointment time, but will be shorter if you arrive late. You can reserve ahead of time one appointment per day by calling 336.883.3661.
Everyone who enters the Library, including our staff, will be required to wear a mask. If you don’t have a mask with you, that’s no problem—we have disposable masks available for you at the door when you enter.
Our computing center won’t re-open yet—but we do have 10 "express" computers available on the second floor, all spaced 6 feet apart. When you make your Library appointment, you can reserve computer time for up to 40 minutes (computer appointments automatically end 15 minutes before the next hour).
Our cafe is still closed, and all of our chairs have been moved into storage. This increases everyone’s safety by reducing the number of shared surfaces where the coronavirus might be transmitted and helping everyone accomplish their tasks more quickly.
To help you find items as quickly as possible, we’ve moved our most popular items into our lobby, including new books and our children’s DVDs.
We’ve installed extra safety equipment such as plastic shields at our service desks and keyboard covers at our computers and library catalog stations. We’ve also implemented additional cleaning procedures, including extra sanitization at each public service area.
If you prefer to not enter the Library building at this time, our drive-through is still open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 7 pm, Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 9 am. to 2 pm.
