[ARCHIVED] BROWSING JUST GOT EASIER: FEWER APPOINTMENTS NEEDED STARTING 10/26

As part of the Library's effort to increase building access while still prioritizing everyone's safety, you no longer need an appointment to visit the Library to browse for books and movies. Starting Monday (10/26), you may enter the Library any time Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Additionally, while our building is closed so that staff can perform additional cleaning and sanitizing on weekdays from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can still visit our drive-through or call us at 336.883.3661.

Library staff will also still be available by appointment for more in-depth one-on-one assistance. For example, if you would like to visit the Heritage Research Center and get tailored staff help, you will need to make an appointment by calling 336.883.3637 (or emailing ncroom@highpointnc.gov). Similarly, you can make appointments for business and career assistance by calling the Research Services staff at 336.883.3641, and you can make appointments for e-book and digital download assistance by calling the Readers Services staff at 336.883.3638.

All other COVID-19 safety policies and guidelines will remain in place so that you can continue to check out safely: everyone who enters the Library is required to wear a mask (disposable masks are available if you forget yours at home); our computing center, cafe, and teen garage are all still closed, but you can use our ten express computers for up to 40 minutes per day; all our public seating is still in storage, and customers are encouraged to limit visits to 45 minutes or less; and a maximum of 35 customers can be in the building at the same time.

The Library will continue to use extra safety equipment such as plastic shields and keyboard covers at our service desks and computers, and our most popular items such as new books and our children's DVDs will remain in our lobby for quicker access.

However, If you prefer to not enter the Library building at this time, our drive-through is still open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
