July 16, 2020 -- Brittano Group-KNova Film Capital is considering a $100 million project in the southwest area of downtown High Point in an Opportunity Zone. The company is involved in producing movie and streaming network content.
March 18, 2020 -- High Pint Brewery and Public House, a cleverly-named startup microbrewery, is coming to High Point. The City Council authorized its portion of a state grant to support the reuse of the 16,200-sq. ft. building at 1114 Eastchester Drive.
Feb. 25, 2020 -- Quantum Materials will invest $3.5 million and add 15 jobs to its 100-person workforce at 5280 National Center Dr. in High Point. The company makes advanced textiles for aircraft seating, office chairs, outdoor furniture, and more.
Feb. 6, 2020 -- The High Point EDC has released "High Point: American City of the Future." The 2019 annual report features office, industrial, retail, services, and showroom projects; High Point University's growth; regional collaboration; and more.
Jan. 7, 2020 -- LLFlex, a leader in packaging materials and industrial laminate solutions, will create 46 new jobs and invest $7.6 million in High Point. The company's new manufacturing facility will be at 738 Gallimore Dairy Road.
Dec. 6, 2019 -- Amada opened its 261,732-square foot manufacturing facility – the first of three buildings on its 37-acre campus. The Japanese-based company will invest more than $125 million, when all phrases are completed. It will create 201 jobs.
Nov. 16, 2019 -- AkzoNobel will invest $55 million in a new wood coatings manufacturing plant at its High Point campus. The company, which is headquartered in the Netherlands, has about 35,000 employees in 80 countries,
Oct. 28, 2019 -- High Point has been named an “American City of the Future” by a publication of The Financial Times of London. The foreign direct investment accolade is for a Top 10 ranking for cost effectiveness in the Western Hemisphere.
Oct. 22, 2019 -- The High Point Economic Development Corp. won an “Excellence in Economic Development” award -- from the International Economic Development Council -- for the 2018 annual report, “High Point: Where Great People Make Great Things Happen.”
Sept. 17, 2019 -- Fastenal, which has its master distribution center for East Coast operations in High Point, is continuing to expand. The company will be adding IT and finance jobs, in addition to recently-announced new distribution jobs.
Sept. 11, 2019 -- Ox Bodies, Inc., a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, will open in High Point. The company will create 40 jobs and increase the tax base by at least $2 million. Ox Bodies is a manufacturer of dump truck bodies and truck equipment.
Aug. 23, 2019 -- The under-construction building at the corner of National Service Road and Piedmont Triad Parkway will be a delivery station for Amazon.com. The $12.7 million, 66,780-sq. ft. "last mile" delivery facility will open later this year.
June 13, 2019 -- High Point biotech entrepreneur Dr. Adnan Mjalli announced a 1,600-employee, $425 million pharmaceutical research park. Oasis Pharma Center will have office and research & development space, a hotel, shops, residential units, and more.
March 4, 2019 -- Future Foam is expanding its 1300 Prospect St. plant. It will build an $8.5 million addition and add 25 jobs. At this plant, raw materials are converted into flexible polyurethane foam for use in furniture cushions, mattresses, and more.
Feb. 19, 2019 -- N.C. Governor Roy Cooper announced that Aetna, a CVS Health business, is expanding its operations in High Point. The business added 80 jobs in 2018 and is projected to hire approximately 300 new employees by the end of 2020.

Nov. 20, 2018 -- Hanesbrands will hire 200 employees for its new 343,000-sq. ft. distribution center in High Point. Located at 4190 Eagle Hill Drive, the facility will handle Hanesbrands' Champion products, especially men’s athletics and jersey apparel.
Nov. 7, 2018 -- Over the last year, there were 5,167 jobs created or announced by 37 office/industrial projects in High Point, Greensboro, and Guilford County and 69 retail/services projects in High Point. HandCraft Services will be bringing 150 jobs.
Sept. 13, 2018 -- Arper has opened a 100,000-sq. ft. furniture manufacturing facility at 660 Southwest Street. The high-end Italian company is making chairs, sofas, and lounge seating. Arper expects to grow its initial workforce of 24 employees.
August 29, 2018 -- Publix Super Markets is making a major new investment in Greensboro-High Point. The company plans to hire 1,000 employees and make a $400 million capital investment at its new distribution and logistics campus in Greensboro.
August 16, 2018 -- The FedEx Express Mid-Atlantic Hub at Piedmont Triad International Airport is adding 400 employees, bringing total employment at the hub to more than 800 workers. The airport is less than a mile from High Point's city limits.
August 4, 2018 — A major area employer and global giant in the telecommunications field will add 50 jobs at its Guilford County facility. AT&T is hiring at its customer service operation on Wireless Drive in western Greensboro.
May 7, 2018 -- Governor Roy Cooper announced that Amada North America has chosen High Point for its new manufacturing campus. The company will create 201 jobs and invest $87 million. Amada manufactures precision sheet metal fabricating equipment.
April 16, 2018 -- The High Point operations of Cambrex are continuing to grow. The manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients for clinical trials bought its two buildings and recently had two expansions, including adding an analytical laboratory.
Jan. 23, 2018 -- Italian aerospace, defense, and security tech company Leonardo has expanded in High Point. The law enforcement technology systems manufacturer has opened a new 30,000-sq. ft. facility at 4221 Tudor Lane in High Point.
