Chris Testerman

Listen and Learn featuring Chris Testerman

Hear from fiddle craftsman Chris Testerman about how he got his start. Learn about what drew him to making fiddles and what keeps him building more each year. He also is an accomplished musician and will be playing some music.
This is in conjunction with our exhibit - The Luthier’s Craft: Instrument Making Traditions of the Blue Ridge – which will be on display until Saturday, December 17. This exhibit explores and documents the traditional arts of fiddle, guitar and banjo making in Southern Appalachia and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Pasttimes in the Park

Visit our Historical Park Saturday, November 12 to watch our costumed blacksmith conducting demonstrations. On Saturday, November 19
come watch our costumed interpreters cook a traditional fall harvest meal over an open hearth in the Hoggatt House.
Both of these drop-in programs are free and are held from 10 am to 4 pm.
