The High Point Human Relations Commission is looking for members of the Board and for the International and Interfaith subcommittees. The Commission works to end discrimination and promote equal human rights. The Commission is responsible for conducting public programs and community needs surveys as well as human relations. They also make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council for legislation or other action concerning the needs of residents of High Point. The primary job of the Human Relations Commission is to be the extended, appointed arm of City Council and the voice of the community.

The Interfaith Affairs and International Advisory Committees are the subcommittees of the Commission. They plan, promote and assist with events that embrace or educate our citizens about other cultures and religions. Successful recent events such as the Ramadan dinner and Storytelling Festival teaches us that our backgrounds might be a little different, but we are all one people and citizens of High Point.

We are looking for new and diverse people to build the rich culture of the community. If you would like to serve on The Commission or any of these committees or would like more information, please see https://www.highpointnc.gov/hrcommission
