Dine Out and Support the High Point Historical Society

The High Point Historical Society and Texas Roadhouse - High Point have teamed up to raise funds for the Historical Society. Eat at one of High Point's newest restaurants tomorrow Wednesday, November 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 10% of your food purchase will be donated to the High Point Historical Society. 
The High Point Historical Society owns and cares for the High Point Museum collection, securing the history of greater High Point in order to foster a shared appreciation of the diverse stories, artifacts, events and traditions of our community.

Join Us for 46th Annual Holiday Open House

The High Point Museum is hosting its 46th annual Holiday Open House this Sunday, December 2 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. People of all ages are invited to enjoy an entertaining day at the Museum. It will highlight and showcase High Point’s history, while helping the local community to get in the holiday spirit.
 
The Open House presents a fun-filled day featuring holiday-themed musical performances from local groups, arts and crafts, refreshments include hot apple cider and cookies, historical demonstrations such as a blacksmith and spinning and of course a visit from the one and only Santa Claus.
 
The Heart & Soul Singers from the Arc of High Point will be performing at 1:30 p.m. Once again Joe Shelton will perform with his dulcimer in the John Haley House throughout the afternoon. Members of the Andrews Band will be performing between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Santa Claus will make a special appearance from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Beta Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma will be reading holiday stories throughout the afternoon.

Jazz Big Band Holiday

Lunch and Jazz

The High Point Public Library and High Point Museum in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center will be streaming Jazz concerts from the Lincoln Center for the public's listening pleasure. This month's session - Big Band Holidays - will be held Tuesday, December 4 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. The audience is encouraged to bring their own lunch as lunch will not be provided. Come listen, network, collaborate, and celebrate.

Every December, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis brings this Grammy Award–nominated holiday extravaganza to Rose Theater for a series of sold-out shows. With soulful big band arrangements of songs both sacred and secular, Big Band Holidays is an uplifting tradition enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to some swinging JLCO instrumentals, special guest vocalists join the band each season for imaginative new versions of classics like “White Christmas” and “Merry Christmas, Baby.” Join them in the House of Swing for some yuletide cheer sure to brighten up your season.
