Tie Dyeing in the Historical Park

The Children's Division of the High Point Public Library is hosting a tie-dyeing event at the High Point Museum Friday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring a cotton t-shirt (or whatever you want) to tie-dye. No registration required. Music by Steel Drummer Tracy Thornton.

Local Historian Glenn Chavis will offer a guided walking tour of historic Washington Street. Washington Street was a thriving business and entertainment district for High Point’s black community during the period of segregation. The tour, lasting approximately 90 minutes. Watermelon Mania – Revel in all things watermelon at the High Point Farmers Market this week. Enter a watermelon seed spitting contest at 10 a.m.The contest will be divided into three age groups – Children (10 and under) Teens (11 to 18) and Adults.
