-Burn barrels / Burned trash or garbage / ashes 

-Chemicals

-Paints

North Carolina Landfill Disposal Bans

The North Carolina General Assembly has established disposal bans on the following materials under North Carolina General Statute 130A-309.10. See (f) through (m). More information about how to comply with disposal bans for certain materials is provided through the links below. 

• Used oil
• Yard trash
• White goods
• Antifreeze
• Aluminum cans
• Scrap tires
• Lead-acid batteries
• Motor vehicle oil filters
• Plastic bottles
• Wooden pallets
• Oyster shells
• Computer equipment and televisions
• Beverage containers from ABC permit-holders

Banned from disposal in construction and demolition debris landfills:

• Fluorescent lights
• Mercury-containing thermostats

2. What are the hours of operation?

The facility operates 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call 336-883-3435 for more information.

3. What is the charge to dump?

Kersey Valley Landfill charges $42 a ton, $2 minimum on cars, $7.50 minimum on trucks and SUV’s, plus $2 state tax per ton. Please call 336-883-3435 for more information.

6. Does the Landfill take asbestos?

7. Do we have to be a resident of High Point to dump at the Landfill? If no, is the cost the same as a resident?
