On July 1, 2011, the State of North Carolina banned all televisions and computer equipment from landfills. This includes: laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, mice/keyboards and T.V.s. The City does not accept these items in the regular recycling or garbage.
To recycle these items, do not place these items in your recycling cart for recycling. Instead, residents may dispose of these items for free at:

No needles or medical waste, Styrofoam, bubble wrap, household hazardous waste, shoes, light bulbs, window glass, scrap metal, pots/pans, foil, garden hoses, blinds, paints or construction materials, garbage or yard waste should go in recycling carts. Please take your plastic bags to a grocery store receptacle. Styrofoam may be taken to one of our styrofoam drop-off locations.
